Why we call our hospitality team – ‘The Hospo Collective’

As a significant supplier of hospitality and events staff throughout Australia, the National Workforce hospitality team recruit for world-class events such as the Grand Prix, Motor GP, Supercars and Adelaide’s Superloop 500 and the Sydney Royal Easter Show – to name a few. In a usual year that is. With Covid-19 dominating our lives in the past months, events and functions came to a grinding halt right at the time the team were set to deliver their biggest event of the year – the Australian Grand Prix.

National Workforce’s hospitality team had to quickly pivot and adjust their operational model, updating their skill base and showcasing their abilities in other areas of the business. It’s been a change for the hospitality team – but one they have taken on seamlessly, transferring their skills to support other arms of the business including Industrial, Commercial and Government recruitment.

Lisa Rose, the company’s National Business Improvement and Engagement Manager said, “the Hospo Collective, as they are affectionately known, is a team with a diverse skillset that know how to row together. With the experience of delivering highly professional corporate hospitality staff to hundreds of functions and events each year, adapting, problem-solving, and efficiency is their modus operandi.’

National Workforce’s culture, which operates differently to many of the large hospitality recruitment firms, has also made the transition possible. As a medium-sized supplier with less overheads, National Workforce has a whole other revenue producing stream to the business. All staff are trained and inducted to the company’s overall process, enabling any team member to easily slot into day-to-day business operations, and therefore ensuring job security during the pandemic.

Recent news suggests that in the coming weeks, the events and hospitality industry is set to regain momentum. Post Covid-19, The Hospo Collective is ready to pick up right where things left off. Meeting the industry requirements when venues and events get back to normal is achievable for the National Workforce team as operations have continued over the past couple of months.

Chrystal, one of the five team members in ‘The Hospo Collective’ said, “Being able to support other teams during this time has been great, but we are also excited and ready to get back to what we love most – hospitality and events. As soon as the industry is ready, we will be there.”
