Today, we had a cup of coffee with Alicia Lyell – National Workforce's Business Manager at our Tuggerah branch in NSW and asked Alicia a few questions help job seekers in the area.
Alicia, with all that’s happening with COVID-19, how has this impacted work on the Central Coast?
While some industries have been impacted, we are seeing growth in others. Manufacturing companies, including food and pharmaceutical, have had more positions become available.
That’s great! What sort of jobs are becoming available?
Many! Roles vary, but some include working on production lines as well as in maintenance.
Are there any other industries looking to hire at the moment?
Yes, building, construction and associated manufacturing, as well as warehousing and logistics.
What advice do you have job seekers at the moment?
We understand that for many, it’s been a difficult time, but there are opportunities out there. We’ve also seen the creation of new roles such as temperature checkers, cleaners and hygiene monitors in businesses that would never usually require this.
